We're really lucky to have been offered the opportunity to run some outdoor yoga classes through the summer. The classes will take place on the back lawn of Gisby Harrison Solicitors in Goffs Oak.

The lawn at the back of Goffs Oak House is large and flat with space for well over 20 yoga mats.

With your back to the main house there is a lovely view out to Theobolds Brook through the trees at the back of the garden.

We’re also going to make a charitable donation to the Isabel Hospice from the day too – so coming along will raise a little bit of money for them again after our charity class in June.

This does mean that our extended classes at Stanstead Abbots won’t be returning until October now. We felt the outdoor classes would be a nice change but the extended classes will be back from October.

Benefits of Outdoor Yoga

Practising yoga outside has many benefits, connecting us to nature and encouraging our awareness to expand.

Use all of your senses to notice what’s around you and feel the sensations of the elements, whether it’s sun, wind or even a few spots of rain, it will all help us to connect with being present, mindful and grounded.

Being in nature not only reduces the levels of the stress hormone cortisol, it can be very healing, calming and relaxing, and we can find inspiration from our surroundings. Cultivate an appreciation for the beauty and wonder of nature.

The outdoor yoga class will consist of pranayama, yoga asanas and extra time to practice various meditation techniques. We’ll be finishing off each class with a peaceful relaxation.

Combine yoga with nature to soothe and balance your mind, body and spirit.
